Back Alley Artists Night
A CELEBRATION OF EMERGING ARTISTS
Our vision of the Back Alley Artists Night is an annual exhibition featuring the work of emerging visual artists, filmmakers, slam poets, performance art and musicians from the Lower Mainland and provides an opportunity for cross discipline networking while celebrating amazing artists.
Screening Date: July 2018
Screening Location: Vancouver, BC (TBA)
Submission Deadline: Early - February 22 / Regular - May 27 / Late - June 10
Accepted Films Announced: June 22, 2018
Submission: Free for members (become one today!) or Early - $5 / Regular - $10 / Late - $15

Audience Choice Award: The 2017 prize will be announced shortly! Chosen by the audience, the Back Alley Film award has - in past years - included a separate screening and sponsored discounts from local gear rental houses.
Film Requirements:
- Priority will be given to films of creative activism
- Director is in their first 10 years of filmmaking
- Film is between 3-15min long
- Film finished within the past 5 years
NOTE: Submission is not a guarantee of inclusion in the exhibition. Accepted artists and artworks will be announced on June 22nd.
**International submissions accepted so long as the work can be screened in Vancouver in July 2018.
HOW TO SUBMIT:
- Pay the submission fee online below, on FilmFreeway OR become an Artist Member.
- Send access to a downloadable MP4 file of your film (dropbox, google drive, WeTransfer, etc) to: elisabeth@thepurplestapler.com
